Daniele De Rossi Suffers Sprained Ankle During Italy Training - Report

Daniele De Rossi suffered a sprained ankle during Italy's Tuesday training session, but he should be in contention to play Cameroon.

Sky Sport Italia claim the Roma midfielder went down during an XI against XI match as coach Marcello Lippi tested a 3-4-3 formation.

The news from Coverciano is that De Rossi came off with a problem, but it's not thought to be serious enough to rule him out of tomorrow's friendly in Monaco.

The players that took part in the final session were Federico Marchetti in goal, a three man defence with Leonardo Bonucci, Fabio Cannavaro and Giorgio Chiellini.

In midfield were Christian Maggio, Andrea Pirlo, Daniele De Rossi, and Domenico Criscito. Antonio Di Natale, Andrea Cossu and Marco Borriello were the front three.

It is expected this is the team and formation that will play Cameroon if De Rossi is passed fit to play following his minor problem. (Goal.Com/AS)
